I HAVE WATCHED ADVENT CHILDREN IT IS SO COOL THE GRAPHICS ROCK CLOUD IS GORGEOUS I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! i have been officially re-converted into a Final Fantasy Freak. more to rejoice about: i will soon come into $300 because i have been accepted -duh- for the SPH work experience. *cheers* i'm just drooling thinking about all the things i can buy with that amount.. also, my e*mads scored b3 for term 3!! whoohoo!! HOWEVER, my a*mads barely passed. by 0.5, to be exact. heh. oh well. you win some you lose some. darn the manometer. when is she ever gonna let me and Finny present picture discussion and gain marks? or does she really intend to fail us for english.. speaking of Finny, i've got some uneasy vibes radiating from her. she's blowing all hot and cold, and sometimes she acts like she just doesn't bloody care. like when i suggested going down to the canteen to help poor Charmaine to sort the surveys or at least make up our own, she was like, "oh, charmaine's working so hard already we should just let her continue." WHAT KIND OF LOGIC IS THAT? it defies principles, moral values, and friendship. just about shows her lack of concern for people around her. maybe i'm being too harsh. i practically blew my top and shouted "we cant keep slacking!" and i whirled around dramatically down the stairs. [flowery language unintended] later while i was sitting there with Charmaine faking out survey results she had the cheek to waltz over and eat at our table when neither of us had had our lunch. however i knew she knew that i was really pissed -and not just shoutysulkyhuffy pissed, really cold anger- and she wisely did not say anyting to me. but when she had to ask around for coins for drinks she had no choice but to approach me. well, friends cant stay mad at each other forever, specially not good friends, so i just smiled to show that i wasnt mad anymore. why does it seem like we're drifting? sometimes she just lapses into silence which really makes me curious as to what's going on through her mind. but we had fun today planning this haunted house thing that library's holding for halloween. cant wait to scare the daylights out of people.. evil me. today is the eve to children's day and it was quite carefree 'cause most of the teachers wre nice enough to give us swets and lollies even though technically we weren't kids anymore. i tink we should petition for a teens day. the exams are coming.. tomorrow's Oral.. and i havent practised reading aloud or picture conversation.. oh well. next Mon comes the exams.. and doomsday.. i really hope i have the determination to study and pull through this period.. Dear God, please help me to focus better when i'm revising, and help me to be able to recall the knowledge during the exams so i may be able to do well for my parents and my teachers, who have worked so hard. i pray that you will help me not get distracted by other things like the computer. please give me the willpower and the strength and the wisdom Lord. i pray this in Jesus' name, Amen

top ten frustrating things in my life at this moment: 1o. i can't seem to motivate myself to study. 9. the exams are exactly a week away. 8. i want to watch Corpse Bride real bad. 7. Clarence advises me to get Nano, but Jermy says iPod sucks. 6. i can't decide who to sell my Shuffle to: Andrea, Dylan or that weirdo malay dude. 5. i can't decide whether i want to sell my Shuffle. 4. i can't find a buyer for my dad's mattresses. 3. Charmaine's pissed with me. 2. my sis just confessed her crush to the guy of her supposed dreams on my advice and the guy doesn't really care. 1. i'm not saving any $$.

i watched Hinokio today!! *screams* yesh, it's so unbelievable man. absolutely tearjerking, heartwrenching, soulful, inspiring, etc. i was completely won over by the simple plot, a subtler adaptation of pinocchio. it's all about a boy named Satoru, traumatized and half-paralysed by an accident that killed his mom, he has been shut up in his room for a year. his estranged dad builds him a robot -Hinokio- as a substitute for him to go to school and interact with the outside world without ever needing to leave his room. and there, he finds unexpected friendship in Jun, a strapping tomboy who had intially played pranks on him. as the story unfurls, we can sense the underlying currents of emotion that're not voiced but rather, sensed in the atmosphere, through almost invisible twitches at the corners of the character's mouth, through their dark pools of eyes.. the strained relationship between Satoru and his dad is proven many times throughout, to the extent where they only communication between them is through scribbled notes and reminders to take dinner or buy groceries, and through messages left on the answering machine. such is the cold world of a family torn by grief and blame, father and son running away from each other, unabel to face either. satoru bears a grudge against his dad for arguing with his mom before the accident and refuses to forgive him or even acknowledge his presence, and there were certain poignant and tearjerking scenes where his dad confessed and broke down. Jun, the light of Satoru's life. well, something to that extent. she shows him what it is like to be alive, and questions his true identity. "are you willing to be behind this metal facade for the rest of your life, or are you going to show me who you really are?" interwoven with the real world are traces of a virtual gaming world, where it is likened to reality. that part is pretty confusing, and i have no idea what it's supposed to represent. insert a jealous classmate -jealous as Satoru in Hinokio the robot commands most of Jun's attentions- and a possible but vague love interest of Satoru's -Eriko- and two comical sidekicks of Jun's, and there you have it, Hinokio for you. |
