i was on the bus yesterday morning, minding my own business. bored to tears with hunter x hunter - because i have no idea what's going on as a. it's in chinese and i have to squint to see the subs b. i can't let anyone see me craning my neck to look at the tvmobile or they'll think i'm some sorta weirdo c. i have to maintain my rep as the cool uninterested misc person minding my own business. so anyway, along the way to school, i see this mother and son go up the bus. i see them often, so not very unusual. i couldn't say they were well off, and the little boy was a fairfield primary kid. they've never really stood out fm the rest of the passengers til that day. for some reason the mother was angry with her son and kept insulting him. loud enough for the entire upper deck to hear. calling him vulgarities like "f*cker son" and "cheebai" and "lanjiao". she said stuff like "wishing he could die sooner" and throwing him into prison so the police could watch him. the poor little boy who couldn't have been more than eight was close to tears. halfway she changed her mind and dragged him off the bus, presumably to go home and thrash him. it was absolutely horrifying. did she not love her son? why did she treat him so cruelly? she was behaving like a primtive barbarian, screeching coarse words and hurling foul language at her own son. if this is the example she sets for her son, what will he become when he is older? will he be traumatized by this? i was so choked up with emotional rage i wanted to slap that *beep* of a mother. how is she fit to be a mother, if this is the way she treats her child? everyone on board was a student, watching this horrendous scene being played out. |
