VENTURE2JAPAN: LA OSAKA ARC

DAY01 - Touchdown!
reached Nankai Kansai Airport at around 8am in the morning. couldn't check in at the hotel yet though, because check-in time's at 12pm. D: dropped our baggage at the lockers and went off to Universal Studios!

the main entrance. damn it was cold. didn't really expect it to be that chilly. D:

didn't really take much shots here because i didn't want to take my hands out of my pockets. *gets shot* but hey leastways i did take some.. a little.. kinda..

teh qu33n of g33kd0m would demolish this.

nice lights. thingies.

more lights.
and then it was getting dark, as you can see from the snaps. gets really dark quickly in winter, so 3pm there seems like 5pm here. hopped back to the hotel to eat at their restaurant Olympia. 100 DISHES BUFFET OMGAWT.

strawberry cheese cream pudding things.

noodles. can't remember whether this was udon or soba. D:

cheese-filled crab shells with crab filling!

fried sin.

CRAB. CRABCRABCRABCRAB.

ginormous cake. they were handing slices of it out. managed to snag one. :D

DAY02 - Kiyomizu-Dera/清水寺
headed for this famous temple in Eastern Kyoto. there's a waterfall within, which i guess that's why it's called thus.

walking uphill to the temple. shops along the way stocking japanese confections and souvenirs.

steps. whee.

nice trees and colors. i think the place would looks fabtastic in autumn.

the infamous veranda of which there is an Edo period tradition that if you survived jumping off this, your wish would be granted. according to Wiki, 234 jumps were recorded in the Edo period and, of those, 85.4% survived. anyone up for it? DX

DAY03 - Kyoto Manga Museum/h.!

Kyoto Tower, not to be confused with Tokyo Tower

ze Kyoto Intern- ah forget it you can read it in the shot. it's more of a manga library though, with manga collections dating back to 1967!

looks like a school from the outside though.

took some snaps, but most of it will be posted on the other blog because.. that's the whole point of that being there. *wiggles eyebrows*

this was interesting. oh by the way, photography wasn't actually allowed in the galleries, but i only saw the 'No Photography' sign after walking around and snapping just about everything. and you can't possibly expect me to delete them all now, can you? >:D

this gallery was a bit freakish, because they all had the same eyes. like they all dug out someone's eyes and used it for everyone.

and then it was off to find the h. Osaka outlet! this was tough though, because no one seemed to have heard of it. @_@? but we finally found it, though it was by accident, because we all walked right past it and my eyes suddenly swiveled up and to the left to the dimly lit sign. damn they should change the lights. or put up a huge neon billboard.

the entrance to h. .. nerves were all jittery, like i was entering some sort of sacred place. XD

gouk on the ground floor. didn't actually enter though.

shoes! yesh, i have a shoe fetish. but no, i didn't buy any shoes from here! *beams proudly*

racks of clothes..

more racks of clothes..

racks of bags.. *A*

HANGRY&ANGRY HANGRY&ANGRY HANGRY&ANGRY HANGRY&ANGRY!!

DAY04 - Osaka Castle/大阪城
this is one of Japan's most famous castles, and played a major role in the unification of Japan during the 16th century of the Azuchi-Momoyama period.

..yesh, i stole that piece of info from Wiki.

oh oh oh oh i met Audrey and her family here. *grin* it's a small world after all.

birds on a roof. wanted to capture them for H3r M4j35TY, but they flew away. awwww.

from the bridge. there was a stupid woman who kept posing on the railing and putting her head in my shots. wanted to just shove her into the moat. *snarls*

pretty gilded roof. sad that this is a reproduction, and not the actual castle though. the actual castle was burnt.

i couldn't focus on the pretty fish on the roof! stupid camera kept focusing on the wire instead. if only i had a DSLR.. *sigh*

the red ferris wheel is where our hotel is. the Singapore Flyer whatsitcalled is NOTHING compared to that. it's built on the roof of a building. fancy that.

hopped on the train again to Fukuoka, where they have a cool mall called Canal City. no prizes for guessing the inspiration for that name.

oh look they have a Pokémon shop!

rubber chickens.

Shonen-Jump shop!

KHR merchandise.

Bleach merchandise promoting the upcoming Diamond Dust Rebellion.

LAWLAWLAWLAWL.

dinner was at one of those roadside stalls. i didn't really care where we ate at this point, as long as we were WARM.

pushcart tents on the outside..

warm squeezy food stalls on the inside.

i found the Hiyoko Sable line of cookies!

cute right? cute right cute right cute right CUTE RIGHT?

and therein ends the Osaka arc. next stop, TOKYO.
