i don't think we should ever let anyone dictate our lives for us. there is a difference between respect and piety, and letting someone completely run your life. no one, not even your parents can decide your future for you, much less a person who's not even related to you. if you let most, if not all the decisions in your life be influenced by someone's opinion, then you're not really living. if you had a chance to learn new stuff and gain exposure, but was disapproved of by someone close to you; between placating that someone and improving yourself to have an edge over others in your future profession, which would you pick? i think it's selfish to prevent others from learning as much as they can, even if you think that it's not really decent, or that we are all still too immature, etc etc. everyone has a right to learn and a right to choose, and a right to think for themselves. i myself wasn't exactly comfortable with the learning method, but it is neccessary, because we cannot stay so close-minded forever, like a damned frog in the well. if this is a good way for me to gain the experience and the knowledge necessary to survive in the future, then i will do it, even if my parents or whoever thinks that it's too early. "too early/young/immature" isn't an excuse. the more you get exposed, the better you'll see in the end. it's a dog-eat-dog world out there, if you stagnate, you will fall to the bottom. if you have made your choice to be like that, then so be it. if you have other methods of improving, then i'm fine with it, as long as i actually see the improvement. although right now, i'm not really seeing anything at all. i'm trying really hard to stay neutral here, but it is FRIGGIN' difficult for me. so i hope you understand what i'm getting at here, and i'm sorry if i'm being too frank/harsh. been bottling this up for a while now. and just for the record, this is entirely my own opinion based on what i've heard and seen for myself. if i'm getting the wrong picture here, then ohkay, i'm getting the wrong picture, tough for me. but if i'm not.. 'nuff said. the world isn't painted in blackandwhite. i'm glad we got this through.

meatballz with Pris is win. stayed til closing time, stumbled to a petrol kiosk to get a drink, and saw what looked like a pile of dung in the middle of the pavement which turned out to be 2 snails mating. ugh. i need to get ahold of myself and my life and the things in it! real quick! oh and for those who don't know yet, yeh imma flyin to LA in a couple of weeks for le SIGGRAPH Conference thingamajig, with a couple of school and museum tours thrown in. for 10 days. ain't that just awezum. but that means i get less time to complete school assignments and i get a lag in Studio Project 3, which means i'll be busy as hell from now til then. which totally explains why i started reading Blade of The Immortal. awezum stuff, but not when you're rushing deadlines and assignments. D8 this is the 300th post, and i wanted it to be a post of awezum content, but.. oh well.

popped over to Cosfest today to just take a look around and see who was there. if you want photos just friggin' google, because i didn't take any. and no, for the record, i didn't do anything. i was just a RANDOM SPECTATOR. saw Mr Hafiz first, which saved me from standing around looking stupid alone. then i saw Tinana and Frank, doing Ukyo from Samurai Showdown. argh. seriously can drive me nuts with his .. talking crapping something. as usual, Vic with her booth stuff, ZJN was there too, as well as Moyan [and her adorable sock thingys.] some people from DMD were there [le gasp], the two dudes from group 9 doing Naruto and.. something. also had the Cheryl Lye bunch with their booth. KIDCHAN WAS THERE. and wearing a ToA shirt too! haha. makes me kinda wish i had signed up for a booth too.. but it would have been seriously hectic for me. D8 there were a lot of D.Gray cosgroups, but. but but but but. the only respectable Kanda and Lavi i've seen so far were Shizu and Seijiro. most of the Lenalees and Allens just.. whatever. also saw Subarashiki no Sekai, the expected Crisis Core people, and gawd there was a Sailormoon team and Dusty was in it. i forgot which one she was, but she's friggin' good, can't think of a lot of people who can pull off long green hair and not look like they've got seaweed for hair. le rabbid came too! didn't think he was one to attend such stuff. but oh well. there were people singing on stage, some of them apparently oblivious to the fact that they're tone deaf. mebbe it's an evil plot to make all the attendees deaf. there was the IFS art director, Thailand branch, who appeared on stage to demo, but he had problems with the notebook. pressure sensitivity or something. :| not much to say, saw the usual goth/punk/loli getups, no commento about that.
