something i've noticed, our generation doesn't seem to take punctuality seriously. before i go into rant-mode, let me just state for the record that i'm not judging anyone, and i'm not directing this to anyone in particular. if anything, i'm guilty of this as well.

my mother is probably the most conscientious person i know. regardless of the appointment's level of urgency, i have never really recalled her being late for anything. i wonder why i don't have her genes for this sometimes.
of course, i think most people know the severity of tardiness in the workplace (unless they're looking to be fired), and i'm not going to really touch that area of focus. it's more of social appointments that i'm looking at, movies, lunch, dinner, just hitting town etc. somehow, even if we do set a time to meet, we always end up adding 30 minutes, an hour to that time. the mentality of "oh, the others will be late too anyways so it doesn't matter if i'm late" is something a lot of people seem to have, myself included as well.
why do we think like that? when we're on the other end, in the position of waiting for the ones who are late, we might be frustrated, upset, a little angry, but it's not like we can express our disapproval, we'd just look like hypocrites. we know we have no right to be anal about it, because we're culpable of the same thing. so in the end all we can do is just smile and forget about it, and the cycle will continue.

i think one of my resolutions for the new year will to be on time for anything and everything. maybe some people might laugh at that and think it's lame, but wouldn't it be good if everyone was early/punctual for what we wanted to do? less time wasted waiting means more time to hang out. statistics have shown we spend 1/3 of our lives waiting after all. shouldn't we try to reduce that?

the round one.

Just your average human specimen wanting to be something more. Also has an absurd fondness for potatoes and shoes, among other things.
